CBS recently paid a visit to three songwriters responsible for some of the best known music around today. They’ve written music for artists like Adel, Beyoncé and Justin Bieber, and they continue to churn out hits.
Instead of dwelling on the fact that some of these prominent artists weren’t associated with the work that propelled them into stardom, let’s rather focus on the process that went into making them successful.
Some of the points we can take from this are:
– The songs sound great with just lyrics and one accompanying instrument (guitar or piano);
– The process is less about finding inspiration, but rather about hard work and perseverance;
– They write music for 8 hours per day (9 – 5 job);
– Lyrics are written from a place of honest expressions of their own life and experiences;
– Their career is compared to therapists, mathematicians and poets.
