JB Brubaker is the lead guitarist for the metalcore band August Burns Red. JB along with rhythm guitarist, Brent Rambler, have both replaced their real amps with simulation. JB runs an Axe-Fx II and Brent is using the Kemper Profiling Amp. JB stated that this technology makes touring a lot easier, as it’s no longer necessary to cart around tons of gear. Although he’s satisfied with the sound of the Axe-Fx, he does feel that he still hasn’t quite achieved the exact sound of a real amplifier. JB’s main guitar is an Ibanez RGA121 production model that he’s had since 2009.
