Slash and Axl on Speaking Terms Again, Brian May Joins NASA and More…

Slash and Axl on Speaking Terms Once Again

Slash recently revealed on a Swedish television show that he and Axl Rose are once again on speaking terms. This development came as a surprise, as the two Guns N’ Roses members haven’t spoken for years.

“It was probably way overdue, you know. But it’s… you know, it’s very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative… dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

There is some speculation amongst fans that this may lead to a reunion of the classic Guns ‘N Roses members. Slash said “never say never” to the idea when interviewed by an American TV station.

Brian May Joins NASA

Brian May collaborated with the team at NASA on the “New Horizons” probe that was sent to study Pluto, its moons and the Kuiper belt. Brian May helped to interpret and sort the data gathered by the space probe.

“I had an unforgettable three days with the amazing New Horizons team. I’m still coming down. Alan Stern, leader of the Science Team at APL in Laurel, Maryland, personally made sure I was treated like one of the family, as a collaborator, and I felt privileged to the nth degree.”

In addition to data gathering, Brian May also compiled the first stereo image of Pluto in high quality. He explained that a stereo photo could appear in 3D with the aid of a stereoscope.

Neil Young Wants Fans to Pirate His Music

Neil Young stated on his Facebook page that he will be removing all of his music from streaming services because he has issues with the audio quality. Neil would like fans to enjoy his music at the intended quality, instead of his work being devalued. He said that he would prefer fans to copy his music for free instead of making use of streaming services.

“AM radio kicked streaming’s ass. Analog Cassettes and 8 tracks also kicked streaming’s ass, and absolutely rocked compared to streaming. Streaming sucks. Streaming is the worst audio in history. If you want it, you got it. It’s here to stay. Your choice. Copy my songs if you want to. That’s free. Your choice.”

The decision proves that Neil Young legitimately cares about what fans think about his music, and is not just there to extract money from his supporters like many modern “musicians”.

“Make streaming sound good and I will be back.”

Dave Mustaine Prohibited Chris Broderick from Using a 7-String Guitar in Megadeth

Chris Broderick recently issued a detailed explanation about leaving Megadeth, which revealed that Dave Mustaine didn’t like the idea of him using a 7-string guitar.

“Dave felt a 7-string guitar wasn’t an original thrash metal instrument. Therefore he felt it would be better if I used 6 strings. There definitely was a dress code that Mustaine wanted to maintain for a Megadeth look. For me, with everything in this camp, I saw very early on that Dave is the owner of the company and he is the one that has the right to say how the company is presented and how it should look. “

Chris went on to state that he has always been a traditional 7-string guitar player, when discussing his new band called Act of Defiance.

Neil Schon Open to a Reunion with Ex-Vocalist Steve Perry

Neil Schon from the power balled group Journey stated in an interview that he is open to the idea of a reunion with their former vocalist Steve Perry.

“People ask me every day, ‘Are you reuniting?’ Steve says, ‘No’, and I say, ‘You never know’. We are always like, if you ever want to come on and just sing a portion of one song, sing a part of a song with Arnel or sing the whole set, you’re welcome anytime you want to come. Arnel is not threatened. Nobody’s on any ego trip. We don’t have any bad feelings.’”

Neil went on to state that he has no direct line of communication with Steve Perry. He does, however, write to him from time to time.

“I mean, he won’t allow me to speak to him directly on the phone, and I write to him all the time and just say, ‘hey, what’s up? I hope you’re doing well’, and that’s it, you know? And sometimes he writes back and sometimes he doesn’t. But, you know, we’re grown men and so it’s time to take the chips off the shoulder and to grow up and let the kids be kids.”
