Spotify is an online music streaming service with over 60 million users worldwide.
The service recently concluded in a study based on their own data that metal fans are the most loyal music supporters. This doesn’t mean that metal is the most popular genre, however metal music is likely to have a lasting effect on the listener.

The study was conducted by identifying the most popular artists from each genre, and then dividing the amount of streams each artist has with the amount listeners.
According to Spotify, the outcome of the study could be largely due to the fact that guitar-oriented genres inspire a more loyal fan base.
In addition to these findings, Spotify has also concluded that local genres are most likely to attract a loyal fanbase. They’ve listed additional genres from various countries to see how they compare loyalty-wise.
